Smith and Mighty
Big World Small World

By Dave Stelfox

Bristol's Smith and Mighty cement their relationship with Stud!o K7 by producing perhaps their finest work yet. Big World Small World is an epic trip through the many shades of dub-infused rhythms that the prolific pair excel in. From the low-slung harmonies of Move You Run, the drum'n'bass-rooted filtered feints of No Justice to the faithful funk of Believers this album drifts along on a tide of heavenly production, rumbling sub-bass grooves and taut percussion. However, vocals supplied by the likes of Tammy Payne, Alice Perera and LD add an extra passionate dimension to the compositions, particularly in the heartbreaking balladry of Rescue Me Pt III. An essential release.
